Alzheimer Scotland & The Fraser Centre Community Trust have joined together to hold a fundraising coffee morning on Friday 17th April, 10am-2pm.
Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy homemade baking and freshly ground coffee and take part in a tombola whilst helping to fundraise for two very worthwhile projects for people with dementia.
All proceeds from the event will be split between two causes:
1: Movie & Chat Club: This monthly film event is for people with dementia, their family, friends and carers. Chat over a coffee and a film. We mix the films from classic movies to modern blockbusters.
The Movie & Chat Club takes place every second Thursday of the month. Doors open at 10.30am with the film beginning at 11am.
The fundraising shall contribute to the film licensing costs for the year allowing the films to be advertised and promoted throughout the community.
2: Alzheimer Scotland’s day care bungalow in Bonnyrigg: Funds raised will go towards the creation of a sensory room and a sun room to replace the existing conservatory.
Staff from Alzheimer Scotland will be on hand throughout the day to provide advice through free one on one sessions.
Representatives from Dementia Friendly East Lothian will also be on hand to provide information for people with dementia in East Lothian.
The event is open to everyone to attend to help raise funds.
